Tucker Carlson set to interview Megyn Kelly
Megyn Kelly will return to Fox News for the first time in nearly three years when she joins Tucker Carlson on his prime-time show Wednesday night.
“She’s got a lot to say, and I hope you’ll watch,” Carlson told viewers on Monday.
{mosads}Kelly jumped from Fox News to NBC News in 2017, signing a three-year contract with the Comcast-owned network. She parted ways with NBC nearly one year ago following her comment that wearing blackface was “OK” when she was growing up “as long as you dressed up as a character” during a panel discussion on Halloween costumes. She quickly apologized, but NBC still abruptly canceled her show.
Some media observers have since speculated that it was Kelly’s willingness to book sexual misconduct accusers of former “Today” host Matt Lauer on her program that drew the ire of NBC executives, eventually leading to her exit.
“Megyn Kelly’s forthcoming guest appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight was coordinated weeks ago and is a one-time occurrence,” Fox News said in a statement to The Hill. “Any future programming changes we are considering do not involve her.”
The interview will mark Kelly’s first appearance on Fox News since January 2017.
The former “Kelly File” host has not been on television in any capacity since October 2018, when she was still with NBC.
