Ocasio-Cortez set to make her first appearance on Fox News
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) will sit down for her first interview on Fox News on Thursday evening, joining anchor Bret Baier on “Special Report” in the 6 p.m. hour.
The freshman congresswoman periodically appears on CNN and MSNBC, but has yet to appear on Fox News since bursting onto the scene in 2018 by upsetting 10-term Rep. Joseph Crowley (N.Y.) in a Democratic primary before eventually winning her congressional seat at age 29.
Ocasio-Cortez, a leading surrogate for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) presidential campaign, has been particularly outspoken about the need for “Medicare for All” amid the coronavirus outbreak, arguing the situation would be more under control in a single-payer system.
“Want to know one major reason why South Korea has had stellar rapid response and quickly produced & scaled up to 10k+ tests/day?” she asked her more than 6.5 Twitter million followers. “They have a single payer, #MedicareForAll system. We don’t.”

Fox News has landed several interviews with top Democrats in recent months, including Sanders for a town hall this past Monday and 2020 Democratic front-runner former Vice President Joe Biden earlier this month.
