Chris Cuomo to host NewsNation town hall with JD Vance
Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) is slated to participate in a town hall on cable channel NewsNation that will be moderated by anchor Chris Cuomo and streamed exclusively on the social platform X.
The one-hour town hall will take place from Detroit on Oct. 24 and begin at 8 p.m. EDT.
NewsNation said it would have editorial control of the event, and viewers “will have the opportunity to pre-submit questions for Senator Vance through X.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), the Democratic nominee for vice president, has been invited to participate in a similar event, the network said.
“We are honored to bring viewers a town hall with the Vice Presidential nominee for the Republican ticket,” NewsNation President of News and Politics Cherie Grzech said in a statement. “In this critical election year, the greater the number of opportunities for voters to hear directly from the candidates, the better it is for everyone.”
The event hall will be held in front of a live studio audience comprised of independents, Democrats and Republicans, and it will focus on “key issues that are important to voters in the battleground state of Michigan, including the economy, health care, and the border,” the network said.
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
