Trump recording podcast with Joe Rogan this week

Former President Trump is planning to sit for an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan this week.

The former president will record his conversation with Rogan at the media personalities’ studio in Austin, Texas, on Friday, a person familiar with the plans confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday.

News of the interview was first reported by Politico.

Trump teased a potential sit-down with Rogan earlier this month, calling him “good guy,” and praising him for “being so well known” for being a UFC promoter.

The former president has been spurning interviews with mainstream media outlets in recent weeks, instead opting to participate in conversations and friendly interviews with online influencers, podcast hosts and conservative cable news segments.

Vice President Harris’s campaign has also reportedly been meeting with Rogan’s team about the possibility of a potential interview in the final days before the Nov. 5 election.

Rogan is one of the most popular and controversial media personalities in the country, with each of his episodes earning millions of downloads and often features conversations with top newsmakers.

The podcaster has never hosted Trump on his show, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and has drawn criticism in recent years over commentary on public health and other controversial issues.

He earlier this year inked a $250 million deal with Spotify to distribute his show.
