Cardinals-Brewers game postponed after positive coronavirus tests: report

Another Major League Baseball game has been postponed due to the coronavirus, ESPN reported Friday.

Several members of the St. Louis Cardinals reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the postponement of Friday afternoon’s match-up against the Brewers in Milwaukee.

The decision by Major League Baseball to hold off on the game comes after the postponement of seven Miami Marlins games due to a coronavirus outbreak on the team. Other postponements in the already-shortened season have affected the New York Yankees, the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The baseball season started last week, instead of the usual late March or early April opening, and immediately ran into issues after an outbreak involving 19 members of the Marlins organization.

Two members of the Philadelphia Phillies organization, the Marlins’s opponent last weekend, also have tested positive.

The Hill has reached out to Major League Baseball for comment.
