CNN’s Cupp, Carpenter, Setmayer to headline ‘Convention on Founding Principles’
CNN’s S.E. Cupp, Amanda Carpenter and Tara Setmayer are set to headline the “Convention on Founding Principles” next week during the Republican National Convention, with former FBI Director James Comey and former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci also among the lineup of speakers.
The event, first announced in July, is billed on its website as an effort to “defend our founding principles and fight for a better future for all Americans.”
The event’s Twitter account tweeted last month that while the GOP convention “pledges allegiance to Trump, principled Americans will gather to pledge allegiance to our founding principles instead.”
In August, while the RNC pledges allegiance to Trump, principled Americans will gather to pledge allegiance to our founding principles instead. Tune in for 4 nights to hear from leaders dedicated to defeating Trumpism & building a better future. https://t.co/aqZQv2yMSv

The virtual convention will run for four days starting on Monday at the same time of the Republican convention, which will be held at the White House with many speeches being held outside in the Rose Garden and on the South Lawn.
Cupp, a former conservative co-host of “Crossfire,” currently serves as a host of “Unfiltered” on CNN. She recently endorsed Democratic nominee Joe Biden, while Carpenter and Setmayer are also CNN contributors.
Some longtime Republicans who have endorsed Biden are also slated to speak at the event, such as former Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) and former New Jersey Gov. Christie Whitman.
We saw it tonight. Biden believes in decency, democracy, and the inherent good of the American people. GOODNESS is an urgent agenda. It’s why I’m voting for @JoeBiden. https://t.co/SiyarBsOD2

Trump has spent his presidency gaslighting our country and shrouding Americans from the truth. At the Convention on Founding Principles we’re hosting speakers such as @amandacarpenter who will shed light to truth and facts. #CFP2020 pic.twitter.com/Hv4o49FO0r
