The anti-Trump GOP group the Lincoln Project has released an ad that puts blame on President Trump for the United States’s high COVID-19 fatality rate, using his desired border wall as a visual.
The ad, which is almost completely silent, begins with the date Dec. 28 and then shows a ticker with rapidly climbing numbers. It stops and turns red as the as the words “More than 330,901 Americans are dead” appear.
The image then changes to a “border wall” constructed from a row of tombstones, with flowers and American flags placed at their bases.
“This is Trump’s wall,” a message reads. “Paid for with 330,901 American lives.”
The Lincoln Project has released several viral ads targeting Trump this year, especially in the run-up up to the election. Earlier this month, the political action committee was among the top 2020 advertisers by Ad Age.
Many of the Lincoln Project’s ads have focused on how the president is handling the coronavirus pandemic.
On Tuesday, President-elect Joe Biden announced he would be expanding his COVID-19 response team and criticized Trump and his administration for a delayed vaccine rollout.
