Caitlyn Jenner on Hannity touts Trump: ‘He was a disruptor’

Former reality TV star and California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner praised former President Trump on Wednesday, saying she liked him because he was a “disruptor.”

Appearing on Fox News’s “Hannity,” host Sean Hannity asked Jenner for her assessment of Trump as well as President Biden and Vice President Harris.

“What I liked about Donald Trump is he was a disruptor, you know? He came in and shook the system up, OK. A lot of people didn’t like that in Washington, D.C., but he came in and shook the system up. I think he did some things that I agree with, some things I didn’t agree with,” Jenner said.

The Olympic gold medal winner, a lifelong Republican, had endorsed Trump, a fellow reality TV star, in the 2016 presidential campaign but seemingly broke with him after he enacted a ban against transgendered people in the military.

“The leader of our nation has shown no regard for an already marginalized and struggling community. He has ignored our humanity,” Jenner, herself a transgender woman, wrote in The Washington Post at the time.

Jenner seemed to acknowledged some disagreements on the issue of transgender people with Trump, telling Hannity, “I was more hopeful at the beginning. And — but there were some good things he did.”

When it came to Biden, Jenner said, “I don’t think I’ve agreed with anything.”

“I don’t think, since he’s been in there, he has done anything for the American worker, maybe other ones,” Jenner added. “So it is a — it is a 180 degree turn in our country, going the other direction, and it scares me.“

Jenner has labeled herself a “thoughtful disrupter” since announcing her campaign.

“The government is now involved in every part of our lives. They’ve taken our money, our jobs and our freedom. California needs a disruptor — a thoughtful disruptor,” Jenner said in a campaign ad released this week.

Jenner also addressed her stance on transgender girls in sports, which has been a target of GOP-led bills in multiple state legislatures. During an interview earlier this week, Jenner said she opposed transgender girls participating in sports, which some online commentators took as her pandering to Republican voters.

“I think we have to make sure that the integrity of girls’ sports is there. I think that’s extremely important. But it’s — there’s more to it than just what I said, because I just said biological boys in sports. There’s more to it than that, and I think in the future I will explain more of that,” Jenner told Hannity.
