Longtime journalist and political pundit Piers Morgan is joining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. and Fox News Media, the company announced on Thursday.

As part of the deal, Morgan will host a show that will air on weeknights in the United Kingdom, U.S. and Australia beginning in 2022. He will also write two weekly columns that will be published online for the Murdoch-owned New York Post and The Sun.

Morgan’s show, which will be based in London, will air on Fox Nation in the U.S., talkTV in the U.K. and SkyNews in Australia.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to News Corp. which is where I began my media career more than 30 years ago,” Morgan said. “Rupert Murdoch has been a constant and fearless champion of free speech and we are going to be building something new and very exciting together.”

Morgan said he wants his new show to serve as a “fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews, and a place that celebrates the right of everyone to have an opinion, and for those opinions to be vigorously examined and challenged.”

Morgan struck the deal with News Corp after leaving ITV and “Good Morning Britain” earlier this year following an explosive confrontation, during which he stormed off the set, about the controversy surrounding allegations of racism leveled at Buckingham Palace by Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

A British media watchdog investigated Morgan over his comments about Meghan but cleared him of any violation this month. Morgan had said he did not believe Markle when she told Oprah Winfrey she had suicidal thoughts and did not get help from the royal family.

Murdoch called Morgan a broadcaster “every channel wants but is too afraid to hire.”

“Piers is a brilliant presenter, a talented journalist and says what people are thinking and feeling,” Murdoch said in a statement. “He has many passionate fans around the world and we look forward to expanding his audience in the UK, at FOX Nation, Sky News Australia, The Sun and the New York Post.”

Winnie Dunbar Nelson, who worked with Piers Morgan at CNN and “Good Morning Britain,” will serve as the executive producer of his new show.
