Fauci to appear on Fox Business Friday for rare interview on the network
Infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci will appear Friday on Fox Business after months of remaining largely absent from the network.
An interview with Fauci conducted by Fox News Media host Neil Cavuto will air on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” at 1 p.m. eastern, marking a rare appearance by the president’s chief medical advisor on a network that has clashed with him repeatedly in the past.
Fauci has rejected multiple interview offers from Fox News and Fox Business, Mediaite reported. Prior to the upcoming appearance, he only appeared on the network twice in more than three months.
The last time Fauci appeared on Fox News was Oct. 17 for an interview with Chris Wallace. Before October, Fauci appeared in an interview with Cavuto on July 23.
Fauci frequently does interviews on other major news networks.
His reported spat with Fox News comes as hosts on the network have repeatedly denounced him. Lara Logan, a host on Fox News Media’s streaming service, on Monday compared Fauci to a Nazi doctor infamous for conducting human experiments at Auschwitz during the Holocaust.
“What you see on Dr. Fauci, this is what people say to me, that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele … the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps,” Logan said on “Fox News Primetime.”
Cavuto has repeatedly told viewers to get the coronavirus vaccine, especially after testing positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 in October.
“For god’s sake, think of the bigger picture here, get outside yourself and think about those you work with, those around you, think about keeping them safe,” Cavuto said. “These breakthrough cases are overwhelmingly happening among immunocompromised individuals like myself.”
The interview with Fauci will also appear on Fox News’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” and “Cavuto Live” on Saturday.
