Clinton predicts Trump will run again in 2024

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said that she believes former President Trump will seek the presidency once more in 2024 and that if he is elected again it “could be the end” of American democracy.

Clinton made the comments during an interview with NBC’s Willie Geist that aired on “Sunday Today” and also said, “If I were a betting person, right now I’d say Trump is going to run again.”

“He seems to be setting himself up to do that, and if he’s not held accountable, he gets to do it again,” added Clinton.

Clinton also criticized the Republican Party for being taken over by a “demagogue” in Trump and said that former colleagues of hers have “hung their spines up on the wall as they walk into their offices.”

Clinton predicted that another Trump candidacy could be a “make-or-break point” for democracy.

“I think that could be the end of our democracy. Not to be too pointed about it, but I want people to understand that this could be a make-or-break point. If he, or someone of his ilk, were once again to be elected president, especially if he had a Congress that would do his bidding, you will not recognize our country,” Clinton said.

Clinton also expressed that she had “moments of responsibility and guilt” over losing the 2016 election.

“I tried to warn people. I tried to make the case that this was really dangerous — the people he was allied with, what they were saying, what he might do. I do think but for Jim Comey and the stunt he pulled 10 days before the election, I would have won.”
