First family beats tax deadline, pays $186,378
President Bush and his wife reported $642,905 in taxable income in 2006 and will pay $186,378 in federal income taxes, the White House announced Friday.
{mosads}The money is a combination of the presidential salary and “investment income from the trusts in which their assets are held.”
The White House stated that the president and first lady Laura Bush contributed $78,100 to churches and charitable organizations.
