Memorial today for Millender-McDonald
A memorial service for the late Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald (D-Calif.) will be held today at 10 a.m. in Statuary Hall.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will deliver remarks honoring Millender-McDonald, who was the first black oman to chair the House Administration Committee.
The Army String Quartet will play at the event. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), David Dreier (R-Calif.) and James Clyburn (D-S.C.) will be among those honoring the former lawmaker.
Millender-McDonald passed away last month after suffering from cancer. She was 68.
