JetBlue withdraws YearlyKos support
After Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly criticized JetBlue Airways for sponsoring YearlyKos, a convention for liberal bloggers set to take place in August in Chicago, the airline withdrew public sponsorship.
{mosads}JetBlue, which flies to Midway Airport, had provided YearlyKos with 10 free roundtrip tickets to distribute to keynote speakers as it saw fit.
The company made the offer “as part of introducing customers to our new service to Chicago [and] we’ve asked to have our logo removed from YearlyKos’s website to avoid any confusion,” a spokeswoman for JetBlue, Alison Eschelman, said. “We’re an airline; we’re not a political organization.”
The company logo no longer appears on the YearlyKos website.
