Rep. Ryan endorses Sen. Dodd

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) on Thursday endorsed Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) for president.

“When I vote for a president I want certain qualities. I want passion, I want conviction and I want clarity,” Ryan wrote on the liberal DailyKos blog. “Today I endorse Chris Dodd because he has all three.”

Dodd now has 10 endorsements from Capitol Hill lawmakers.

Ryan stated in his post that it would be easy for him to endorse Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) or Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

“But this isn’t about poll numbers … this is about who has the leadership to end the war in Iraq and take care of the mess that the Bush administration has left us,” Ryan said.
