Regula says he will not seek reelection
Ohio is losing its longest-serving congressman to retirement. Rep. Ralph Regula (R-Ohio) officially announced Friday that he will not run for reelection next year.
{mosads}House Minority Leader John Boehner (R), a fellow Ohioan, called Regula “a champion of the principle that all children — rich or poor — deserve a quality education.”
Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) said Regula “consistently delivered for his district, state and nation.”
Regula’s Canton-based district leans Republican. President Bush won there in 2004 with 54 percent of the vote.
