Clinton plans D.C. fundraisers
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) campaign is planning high- and low-dollar fundraisers in Washington later this month.
According to a campaign finance e-mail obtained by The Hill, Clinton will attend a fundraiser Wednesday at the home of Beth and Don Dozoretz.
{mosads}The required contribution is $1,000, and the e-mail encourages those inclined to attend that, if they “have already maxed-out, please raise $1,000 to attend.”
Donors can join the host committee for a price tag of $5,000, which includes a “private reception” with the New York senator.
Later this month, Clinton will attend a “low-dollar” event at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall.
The March 26 fundraiser, which is being called “March to Victory — Evening with Sen. Clinton,” only costs $25 for general admission. To be a “supporter,” donors can contribute $50, $100 to be a “friend,” $250 for “champion seating” and $500 for “Platinum seating.”
“Make sure to forward this to your networks today,” the e-mail states, adding that “our last event sold out days in advance.”
Despite putting up a Clinton campaign record haul of $35 million raised in February, rival Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) bested Clinton with a jaw-dropping $55 million last month.
Both campaigns will likely invest heavily in the remaining primary states, especially Pennsylvania, the largest delegate prize left on the calendar.
