Romney strategist heads to Freedom’s Watch
Carl Forti, who most recently served as deputy campaign manager and political director to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R), will join Freedom’s Watch and lead the group’s issues-advocacy campaign.
{mosads}Freedom’s Watch, an independent organization, is thought to be a well-funded conservative answer to groups like MoveOn.org, and most political observers think the group will be a major player this year on behalf of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and other down-ballot GOP candidates.
“Carl is a seasoned political operative with a broad and deep understanding of the policy issues that shape political dynamics both nationally and locally. He brings to the table an unparalleled level of issue advocacy expertise,” Freedom’s Watch said in a statement. “Carl will play an integral role in this organization as we move to impact critical public policy issues that will be debated this year.”
Forti was formerly communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
