Vice President-elect Biden will travel to Southwest Asia
later this week, his successor on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
announced Monday.
{mosads}Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said he would join Biden, who
has not yet resigned from the Senate, and Sens. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Susan
Collins (R-Maine) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on the trip.
Citing security reasons, Kerry’s office did not release
which countries the congressional delegation would visit or a schedule of the
trip. However, many countries in the region are hotspots, including Israel,
Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Georgia.
