White House: Stimulus helps, but final impact unknown
The bipartisan stimulus package that was enacted earlier this year is helping the economy, the White House said Thursday, but it could be months until its final impact is clear.
{mosads}“It’s contributing to growth, we know that,” White House spokesman Tony Fratto told reporters, referencing anecdotal evidence the White House has received since the first rebate checks were issued.
But the total economic effect will not be clear for some time, Fratto said, adding that it could be at least a full quarter until the measure's final impact can be determined.
The final round of rebate checks will be released this month.
