EMILY’s List adds six

EMILY’s List announced Thursday that it would support six more Democratic women running for Congress this cycle, expanding its playing field in much the same way House Democrats are.

{mosads}Some of the newest additions are in lower-tier races, such as Annette Taddeo, who is running against Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) and Judy Feder, who is challenging Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.).

Also added were repeat candidates Jill Derby in Nevada and Victoria Wulsin in Ohio. Derby, who lost by five points in 2006, is challenging freshman Rep. Dean Heller (R) again, while Wulsin is looking to build on a one-point loss to Rep. Jean Schmidt (R).

The final two beneficiaries are Sam Bennett, who is running against Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), and Anne Barth, who is taking on Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.).

Four of the women are already part of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red to Blue program for challengers, with Derby, Feder and Wulsin being added just last week.

Bennett and Taddeo are currently on the watch list for the program.
