House GOP leaders support deal
House Republican leaders came out in favor of the financial rescue package during a closed door meeting of the Republican conference.
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) referred to the bill as a "crap sandwich" according to two sources in the room, but said it was critical to save interests on Main Street.
{mosads}Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Chief Deputy Eric Cantor (R-Va.)and Budget Committee ranking member Paul Ryan (R-Wis.)all came out strongly for the compromise, brokered Saturday night between congressional leaders and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, according to sources.
