NRSC resumes ad purchases in Louisiana
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has decided to again purchase ad time in the Louisiana Senate race, just days after seeming to have abandoned the state.
"We have seen the race in Louisiana close dramatically over the past week, so the strategy for this race is being re-evaluated," said spokeswoman Rebecca Fisher. "According to publicly available information, we have placed a buy for next week."
{mosads}The NRSC had hoped its candidate, state Treasurer John Kennedy, would make a play to pick up a seat against Sen. Mary Landrieu (D). The race in Louisiana is seen as one of the few opportunities Republicans have in this election cycle — leaving the GOP to defend a bevy of their own seats in other states.
The NRSC will also continue its participation in Colorado’s Senate race, Fisher indicated.
“Reports that we were pulling out were incorrect,” she said.
Other media outlets reported earlier Friday that the NRSC had pulled media buys in the race between Rep. Mark Udall (D) and former Rep. Bob Schaffer (R).
