A group of liberal organizations are planning protests this weekend against President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch.
The protests, called “The People’s Filibuster,” will be on April 1 and will take place in 14 states and Washington, D.C.
The protests are being organized by The People’s Defense, whose partners include the Working Families Party and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
The purpose of the protests — which will take place in states including California, Florida and Illinois — is for people to get the chance to hear “everyday Americans” voice their concerns about Gorsuch and the Trump administration’s agenda.

“The People’s Filibuster will take place in cities across the U.S. and feature everyday Americans speaking on why they object to the extreme agenda of the president and how the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court would advance that agenda for decades to come.”
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is urging Democrats to join him in opposing Gorsuch. Republicans have warned they will go “nuclear” and change the Senate rules to force through the Gorsuch confirmation if Democrats block a nominee they say is fully qualified for the court.
GOP leaders are eyeing a final confirmation vote in early April.
