Jill Biden on Thursday said former Vice President Joe Biden is not going anywhere.
“Joe is not going away, and you know that, all of you,” she said on CBS’s “This Morning.”
“I mean, he loves politics, he loves what he’s doing and he said he would stay involved.”
{mosads}The New York Times reported Wednesday that Joe Biden is creating a political action committee.
The PAC will reportedly give the former vice president a platform for nurturing ties with donors, traveling on behalf of the Democratic Party and contributing to candidates in future election cycles.
The move signals he intends to remain active in politics.
Jill Biden on Thursday said her husband is setting up the PAC because “he’s going to be involved in the midterm elections.”
There has also been some recent speculation about whether Joe Biden would seek a bid for the presidency in 2020.
Last month, he dismissed speculation about a 2020 campaign during a state dinner event in New Hampshire, host of the first-in-the-nation primary.
“When I got asked to speak, I knew it was going to cause speculation,” he said at the time. “Guys, I’m not running.”
