Seven U.S. soldiers were wounded and one Afghan soldier was killed on a base in Afghanistan on Saturday in what officials are calling an “insider attack.” The U.S. soldiers were evacuated, according to Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
An Afghan official initially told Reuters that “an Afghan soldier shot and killed four American troops inside the base,” but the U.S. military command in Kabul denied the report.

The attack happened at Camp Shaheen, in northern Afghanistan. The incident is currently under investigation, according to military officials.
Just one week ago, three U.S. soldiers were killed and one other was wounded in another attack by an Afghan soldier in eastern Afghanistan.
