Jimmy Carter to Trump: ‘Keep the peace’ and ‘tell the truth’

Former President Jimmy Carter is offering some advice to President Trump.

“Keep the peace, promote human rights and tell the truth,” Carter said Tuesday at his annual presentation to backers of his Carter Center in Atlanta, according to The Associated Press.

Carter also addressed the current situation with North Korea. He said he would send his “top person to Pyongyang immediately” if he were in office.

“If I didn’t go myself,” Carter added.

The former president said he has visited North Korea three times.

Trump earlier this year intensified his rhetoric against North Korea, which has conducted a number of missile and nuclear tests this year.
