Clinton mocks Putin for ‘manspreading’
Hillary Clinton is mocking Russian President Vladimir Putin for “manspreading.”
During an appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, Clinton said that the U.S. intelligence community and others have said Putin had a “personal grudge” against her.
“I don’t take it personally. I think it’s part of his world view, which is all tied up with his anger, his disappointment in the collapse of the Soviet Union, and his feeling that we’re his No. 1 rival,” Clinton said.
{mosads}She added: “Partly because I’m a woman, which seems to get him a bit agitated — he actually has said that — some things about that.”
Clinton was asked by Colbert if the Russian leader ever said anything to her personally that demonstrated this.
“Well, he certainly demonstrated,” Clinton said. “There’s an expression, we certainly know it in New York, called ‘manspreading.’ “
Clinton said Putin sat with his legs spread wide apart every time she met with him, before demonstrating it herself.
Earlier this month, Clinton said she wouldn’t rule out questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election if the country learns the Russian interference in the election is deeper than known.
She later clarified her comments, saying she will not contest the legitimacy of her 2016 election defeat, noting there is no constitutional recourse for such a move.
