Las Vegas suspect found dead by police
The suspected gunman in the Las Vegas mass shooting that killed at least 50 people was found dead by police, officials said Monday.
After the suspected gunman opened fire on a country music festival in Las Vegas Sunday night, the metropolitan police department’s SWAT team responded and “breached the hotel room and found the suspect dead,” according to a release from the police.
Las Vegas Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill told CNN the suspected gunman, Stephen Paddock, 64, was shot.
Police think Paddock was a “lone wolf” attacker, according to The Washington Post.
More than 400 people were taken to area hospitals after the shooting, police said.
President Trump on Monday expressed his condolences for victims of the attack.
“My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting,” Trump tweeted. “God bless you!”
