New allegations against Weinstein surface in London: report

Three new sexual assault allegations have reportedly surfaced against Harvey Weinstein in London.

British police are investigating the allegations, which were made by the same woman, according to The Associated Press.

The woman said she was assaulted in 2010, 2011 and 2015, the AP reported.

{mosads}The report comes after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expelled the veteran Hollywood producer after reports of sexual harassment and assault allegations stretching back decades.

The academy’s board said in a statement it made its decision to “send a message that the era of willful ignorance and shameful complicity in sexually predatory behavior and workplace harassment in our industry is over.”

“What’s at issue here is a deeply troubling problem that has no place in our society. The Board continues to work to establish ethical standards of conduct that all Academy members will be expected to exemplify,” it added.

Weinstein faces a series of allegations from actresses including Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie and Kate Beckinsale.

He told reporters last week during his first public appearance since the reports that “we all make mistakes.” He has reportedly sought treatment following the multiple allegations.

Since the allegations were revealed, many Democrats who received donations from Weinstein have vowed to give the money to charity and condemned Weinstein’s actions.
