Another lawyer leaves Weinstein defense team
Another lawyer is reportedly leaving Harvey Weinstein’s legal team.
Defense attorney Charles Harder is exiting Weinstein’s legal team as more allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Weinstein continue to surface, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Harder’s departure comes after he reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that he was going to file a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times after its original report on the allegations against Weinstein.
{mosads}Earlier this month, attorney Lisa Bloom said she was stepping down as an adviser to Weinstein.
“I have resigned as an advisor to Harvey Weinstein,” Bloom, a lawyer who has represented a number of women in high-profile sexual harassment cases, wrote on Twitter.
“My understanding is that Mr. Weinstein and his board are moving toward an agreement.”
Another Weinstein adviser, Lanny Davis, is also no longer representing the entertainment executive.
Weinstein was expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the wake of the allegations and multiple Democrats who had received donations from Weinstein have vowed to give the money to charity.
