Wall Street Journal envisions Graham as ‘antidote’ to Bannon
The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board is envisioning Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) as the “antidote” to former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon.
In an editorial published late Sunday, the paper’s editors said it was ironic that a press corps that “claims to loathe right-wing political operative Steve Bannon can’t get enough of him.”
The editorial board said Graham captured that sentiment during an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation” earlier in the day, when he said, “You’re going to ask me about Bannon, so I’ll just go and ask myself.”
{mosads}“Yes, so, what is going on?” Graham asked.
“It’s a symptom of a greater problem. If we don’t cut taxes and we don’t eventually repeal and replace ObamaCare, then we’re going to lose across the board in the House in 2018. And all of my colleagues running in primaries in 2018 will probably get beat. It will be the end of [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell as we know it,” he said.
