Actress in ‘Access Hollywood’ tape: ‘How do you apologize for something and renege on it?’
The actress at the center of the controversial “Actress Hollywood” tape in a new interview questions President Trump’s reported claim that it is not authentic.
“I don’t know how else that could be faked. I mean, unless someone’s planting words in your mouth, that’s the only other way,” Arianne Zucker said on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” late Monday.
“But it is puzzling to me. And I was — I was curious. I thought, how do you apologize for something and then renege on it? And that was just in question.”
{mosads}The New York Times reported over the weekend that Trump has suggested the tape is not authentic.
Trump in the tape is heard bragging about using his fame as an excuse to kiss and grope women without their consent. As the bus Trump is on with host Billy Bush approaches Zucker, Trump can be heard saying he “better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her.”
Trump last year seemed to acknowledge the tape’s authenticity, apologizing for the comments and describing them as “locker room banter.”
Access Hollywood in its broadcast on Monday insisted the tape is “very real.”
