Tony Schwartz, the co-author of President Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal,” claimed Wednesday that some people who work in the White House are concerned about Trump’s mental health.
During an interview on MSNBC, Schwartz — a frequent Trump critic — said Trump is a “man who is deeply mentally ill.”
“I know that two different people from the White House, or at least saying they were from the White House and that turned out to be a White House number, have called somebody I know in the last several weeks to say ‘We are deeply concerned about his mental health,'” he said during the interview.

There are some people who recognize what’s going on in the White House, he said, adding that Americans need to understand that Trump is “exceptionally dangerous” because he is “losing his grip.”
He was pressed on what he thinks the objective was of people allegedly making those calls about Trump’s mental health.
“I think to get help and advice in how to deal with someone who no longer seemed to be connected to reality,” Schwartz said.
“They’re afraid?” he was asked during the interview.
“Oh, absolutely terrified,” Schwartz responded.
Schwartz in the past has often criticized Trump and his actions.
Earlier this month, he said the president’s attacks on LaVar Ball, the father of a UCLA basketball player arrested in China this month, stem from Trump being “half awed and half frightened by black people.”
