Adult film star Stormy Daniels was arrested early Thursday morning during a performance at an Ohio strip club.
Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, was arrested in Columbus on three counts of illegally touching a patron, CNN reported.
Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, confirmed the arrest on Twitter.

“Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs,” Avenatti wrote. “This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta”
Avenatti blasted law enforcement for using resources on a “sting operation.”
“Are you kidding me?” Avenatti tweeted.
“We will vehemently contest all charges,” Avenatti wrote in another tweet, adding that Daniels will plead “not guilty” during her arraignment.
He also announced that Daniels appearance scheduled for Thursday had been cancelled.
An employee who regularly appears nude or seminude at a sexually oriented business is not allowed to touch someone not related to them while nude or seminude, according to Ohio law, CNN noted.
Franklin County Municipal Court records reportedly show that she was released Thursday morning after posting a $6,054 bail.
Daniels, an adult film actress, was reportedly headlining a performance at the Sirens Gentlemen’s Club.
She made headlines earlier this year when she alleged an affair with President Trump in 2006. The president has denied the affair.
Trump’s longtime former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, arranged a nondisclosure agreement shortly before the 2016 presidential election and paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about the alleged sexual encounter.
Trump admitted in May that he reimbursed Cohen for the hush money.
Daniels sued him and Cohen for defamation after Trump accused her of lying.
Cohen is currently under investigation as Avenatti alleges the nondisclosure payment was an illegal donation to Trump’s campaign.
