Parent of ex-Georgetown student sentenced in college admissions scandal

Stephen Semprevivo, who paid $400,000 to get his child into Georgetown University as a fake tennis recruit, was sentenced to four months in prison Thursday, according to CNN

Earlier this month, actress Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in jail for paying $15,000 to cheat on her daughter’s SAT test.{mosads}

Devin Sloane, who paid $250,000 to get his son into the University of Southern California as a water polo player, received the same sentence as Semprevivo and was sentenced Tuesday.

Of the more than 50 parents, coaches and test proctors who were implicated in the scandal, 35 are being sentenced. So far, 16 parents have pleaded guilty to fraud conspiracy charges.
