Sen. Tim Johnson leaves hospital

Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) took another step on the road to recovery Tuesday, leaving George Washington University Hospital in favor of a private rehabilitation facility, his Senate office confirmed.

Johnson had been in the hospital since he suffered a brain hemorrhage in mid-December. Questions about his health and his future in the Senate immediately sparked a media storm of speculation about the balance of power in the Senate.
