ASA Hutchison rejoins Venable
Asa Hutchison, the former Arkansas congressman who mounted an unsuccessful effort to become that state’s governor last year, is rejoining the Venable law firm in Washington.
In his new role, Hutchison will work closely with Ray Sheppard, who until recently served as Republican chief counsel and staff director on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The two will be part of a beefed-up team at Venable that specializes in helping clients deal with congressional investigations.
In addition to serving in Congress, Hutchison was also the first undersecretary for border and transportation security at the newly formed Homeland Security Department. He then worked at Venable before his gubernatorial campaign. Hutchison lost to Mike Beebe (D).
