DCCC picks another 8 challengers

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) selected eight more challengers yesterday to participate in the party’s “Red to Blue” program.

Democrats Gabby Giffords (Ariz.), Phil Hare (Ill.), Paul Hodes (N.H.), Steve Kagen (Wis.), Dan Maffei (N.Y.), Angie Paccione (Colo.), Betty Sutton (Ohio) and the winner of Hawaii’s primary to replace Rep. Ed Case (D) were chosen. Thirty-four candidates have been chosen in two previous rounds. The program has raised $8.2 million for Democrats.

The Red to Blue program offers financial, messaging and strategic support to Democrats with the best chances of winning in November.
