Is McCain confident in Trump? ‘I do not know’
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told ABC’s “This Week” that he’s confident in President Trump’s national security team, saying, “I couldn’t have picked a better team.”
But when ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked if that confidence extends to the president himself, McCain demurred.
{mosads}“I do not know, George. I do not know, because he has made so many comments that are contradictory,” he said.
“But I think the fact that he’s appointed and nominated these outstanding individuals is bound to be an encouraging sign,” he continued.
“I trust them and have worked with them over many years.”
