Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Saturday called for nationwide rallies in support of ObamaCare, calling GOP efforts to repeal and replace the healthcare legislation “chaos.”
“We are encouraging Democratic senators to lead rallies in their states. This is not a Democratic issue, a Republican issue or an Independent issue,” the senators said in a letter.
“The overwhelming majority of Americans, regardless of political persuasion, understand that we have to go forward on health care, not backwards.”
{mosads}The letter calls for the rallies to take place on Saturday, Feb. 25.
Democrats held rallies across the country last month in support of ObamaCare.
Republican lawmakers last month passed a budget resolution in its first step towards repealing the healthcare law.
The letter from Sanders and Schumer urges colleagues to contact a Sanders aide to organize the rallies.
