Graham booed at town hall after saying he ‘mostly’ agrees with Trump

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) faced jeers from a town hall crowd in Clemson, S.C. on Saturday after he said he “mostly” agrees with President Trump’s agenda.

“I’m going to try to help our president, Donald Trump, be as successful as possible because, number one, I agree with him mostly and I’d like to get this country moving again,” Graham said.

The crowd responded with audible boos.

{mosads}Trump won South Carolina with 54.9 percent support in the presidential election, while Democrat Hillary Clinton got just over 40 percent.

Graham criticized Trump throughout the GOP presidential primary and the general election. He has repeatedly referenced what he calls Trump’s “blind spot” on Russia.

During the town hall on Saturday, Graham said he wants to repeal and replace Obamacare, confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, and rebuild the military.

“So what have you learned? Graham added. “That I’m a conservative, damn proud of it. And I’m going to help Trump where I can, and the rest of you who voted for Clinton, you should want him to succeed too.”
