Grassley tweets at Trump: Call me on H1B visas

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) tweeted at President Trump Sunday evening, trying to get his attention and support on a bipartisan bill on a certain kind of visa.

Grassley tweeted after a CBS News “60 Minutes” report on the H1B visa program that allows foreign workers with “specialty occupations” to work in the United States. The “60 Minutes” report focused on American workers who’ve had to train their replacements before losing their jobs.

Grassley seized on the broadcast news program’s report to tout a bill he’s sponsoring with Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) that he says would “correct this injustice.”

{mosads}In subsequent tweets, Grassley thanks the president for “getting on board” and suggests the administration get in touch with a former Grassley staffer who now works for the Department of Homeland Security.

“Call my office I will tell WHO SHE IS,” Grassley suggested.

“If u don’t hv time to call tell SecyKelly to call me,” he added, name-checking Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly.
