Murphy: If ObamaCare dies, Trump is ‘sole executioner’
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) says President Trump will be the “sole executioner” of the Affordable Care Act if the healthcare bill is killed.
“ACA was on pace for record sign ups on Inauguration Day. Trump then ordered his agencies to kill it. If it dies, he is the sole executioner,” Murphy tweeted Tuesday.

Murphy was responding to Trump saying that he will “let ObamaCare fail” after GOP senators withdrew the party’s bill dismantling the law.
{mosads}“We’re not going to own it. I’m not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “We’ll let ObamaCare fail and then the Democrats are going to come to us.”
Murphy has been a frequent critic of Trump and the bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday said he will try to bring a bill to just repeal ObamaCare to the Senate floor even after three GOP senators said they would vote against the measure, effectively killing it.
