Warren: I’m not doing ‘touchdown dance’ after GOP healthcare collapse

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Tuesday she isn’t declaring victory over the collapse of the Senate Republican healthcare bill, pointing to the GOP’s long history of working to repeal key provisions of ObamaCare.

“I’m not doing a touchdown dance over health care today. This zombie bill has come back from the dead over [and] over again,” Warren wrote on Twitter.

The Democratic senator similarly criticized the GOP plan in a tweet-storm last month, saying the proposal comes back to life “more often than the lead zombie in a horror movie.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday evening that Republicans would try to move forward with their plan to repeal ObamaCare next week, despite them appearing short of the needed votes to pass the measure.

GOP Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) all spoke out against McConnell’s push this week for a clean repeal of ObamaCare after Republicans’ plans for a repeal-and-replace bill collapsed.
