Warren gives Trump an ‘F’ on draining the swamp

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) says President Trump deserves a grade of “F” on his campaign promise to “drain the swamp.”

Speaking to CNN in an interview Thursday, Warren ripped Trump’s picks to lead federal agencies, noting a number of them are lobbyists and corporate leaders who were part of the “swamp” Trump railed against during his campaign.

Asked about the rising stock market, Warren said the markets were doing well but that won’t help the middle class very much.

{mosads}“I’m glad to see a high stock market, but that wealth is not highly shared,” she said. “It does not mean that the middle class is doing well.”

Warren said people in the middle class are facing stagnant wages combined with rising expenses for basic needs like housing and healthcare.

“A rising stock market isn’t what helps on those issues,” she said. “That’s why I give Donald Trump an ‘F’ on his promises to drain the swamp.”
