Sen. McCain goes on hike after cancer diagnosis
Sen. John McCain’s daughter Meghan McCain tweeted a picture Saturday of her and her father on a hike in Arizona, just days after he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
“Amazing hike with Dad [Sen. John McCain] this morning. Thank you all for your best wishes!” she tweeted with a picture of the two outside viewing the Arizona wilderness.

The Republican Arizona senator, 80, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor, at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix where he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot on Friday.
Earlier in the week, McCain issued a statement thanking people for the outpouring of well-wishes he has received in the days following his diagnosis, saying that he’d be back soon.{mosads}
“I greatly appreciate the outpouring of support — unfortunately for my sparring partners in Congress, I’ll be back soon, so stand-by!” McCain tweeted Thursday.
McCain’s latest diagnosis is not his first battle with cancer, as he underwent a procedure in 2000 to remove a type of skin cancer from the left side of his face.
