Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Tuesday that Congress must continue its push on healthcare reform.
“We can’t move on from healthcare because ObamaCare is a mess,” he said on CNN’s “New Day.”
“This problem isn’t going away, ObamaCare. These markets are collapsing, premiums have skyrocketed.”
Johnson said it’s necessary to focus on “achievable goals” and go through the “problem-solving process.”
{mosads}His comments come after GOP senators last week failed to pass even a “skinny” bill repealing ObamaCare.
President Trump has since waged a public pressure campaign against GOP senators. This past weekend, the president sent out a series of tweets urging Republicans not to give up on their campaign promise to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
He also tweeted that the effort isn’t dead, and encouraged lawmakers to abolish the legislative filibuster.
Other Senate Republicans, however, appear ready to move on from healthcare after the collapse of last week’s effort.
