Kamala Harris condemns ‘senseless gun violence’ after Texas church shooting

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) called for gun control after a mass shooting at a Texas church left multiple people dead Sunday.

“Senseless gun violence has torn apart another community — this time in a house of worship. When do we say enough is enough?” Harris tweeted.

Several other Democratic lawmakers renewed their calls for Congress to pass gun control legislation in the wake of the mass shooting.

Multiple reports say a gunman opened fire in a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, leaving at least 20 people dead.

Police have not confirmed the official number of fatalities.

President Trump tweeted Sunday that he is “monitoring the situation from Japan” during his trip to the country.
