Warren likens Trump’s time in office to ‘dog years’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) late Monday likened President Trump’s time in office to “dog years.”

During an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Colbert noted that Trump wasn’t president the last time Warren made an appearance on the show.

“I remember those days,” Warren said. “How long has he been president now?”

{mosads}“Forty-five years,” Colbert said. “If my bone density is any indication.”

“That’s right. There were dog years, now there are Trump years. It’s going to be hard,” Warren said.

Colbert said being in the White House normally ages the president.

“We’re the ones getting older very quickly,” Colbert said.

Warren also shot back at Trump for referring to her as “Pocahontas” in recent tweets.

“Donald Trump thinks if he’s going to start every one of these tweets to me with some kind of racist slur here, then he’s going to shut me up,” Warren said.

“It didn’t work in the past, it’s not going to work in the future,” she said.

Warren, who has been rumored as a potential 2020 presidential candidate, has been a frequent critic of Trump and his policies since he was sworn into office.

When asked during the show about 2020, Warren said: “We got to be really careful here, I get the point about Trump years and what this feels like right now.”

“But we’ve got fights in front of us right now,” she said, referring to the GOP tax plan.
